Fall Beanie

Over the last year two years I’ve become obsessed with styling hats. They are the perfect accessory to add flair to an outfit while still being affordable (much like bandanas, check out my post on neck scarves here!). I have a few fedoras which I love to death, as you can see from my Instagram. During this transition to cooler weather I’ve found that beanies are the perfect solution to staying warm while stayin’ cute (not to mention, they cover up those bad hair days when you’re low on dry shampoo).

For me, a beanie has to meet certain criteria: it has to be snug enough where it won’t fall off if it’s windy, but not too snug that it gives me a headache: it has to have some slouch on the tip, but not to the point where I look like a sk8er boy: and it has to be a great neutral color. Enter: the Brixton beanie! This beanie is amaaaazing. Not only does it meet all of the criteria, but it’s super affordable! It’s only $23.95 (& its on sale! 20% off if you order from Backcountry) and is great quality. I have a Brixton fedora which I love, so I knew that their beanies would also be great pieces. I bought it in this gorgeous red color because it is the perfect dark neutral. I was torn between a light grey and this red, but decided to go with red because I realized I have a lot of grey in my closet, and god forbid I screw up and turn a cute beanie into a groutfit (which I totally lounge in all the time, ha!).

On a totally unrelated note, Thanksgiving is just two weeks away!! Which is crazy. My sister comes home next weekend, my family is doing the Turkey Trot, and I can’t wait to eat all the turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing (my aunt makes the best Thanksgiving dinner!). I’m looking forward to curling up by the fire, sipping tea/wine with my sis, and renting movies on On Demand. Cheers to the weekend & the upcoming holiday season!

xoxo, A

Also looking forward to family fire pit time. Maybe the rainy streak of 9 weekends in a row with some form of Precip in them will be broken!
