Cozy At Home

Happy Holidays, friends! It’s the most wonderful time of the year, where your social media feeds become filled with Pinterest-inspired holiday pictures that overuse the words “cozy, holiday, and hot coco.” Oh, and people posing next to their Christmas trees wrapping up gifts they claim they are giving to their family and friends (I guess the gifts aren’t a surprise?).

In all seriousness, I do love Christmas because it brings everyone together. Even though we don’t do anything extravagant for Christmas, it’s still so nice to see everyone in good spirits during our usual family festivities. December is my busiest month by far with family activities, Christmas preparations, and killer retail hours, but I am determined to set aside some time to relax and soak in the corny holiday season.  One way I’m doing that is setting up shop right in front of our *cozy* fireplace and Christmas tree! This little nook in my parents house is my happy place where I apply for jobs, blog, online window shop, nap, you name it! I’ll also be sporting these festive PJ’s all month. I got these a few years back from J.Crew (similar pair here and here, they’re on sale!) and they’re really comfortable. They’re soft enough to sleep in and not too hot. I also love L.L.Bean’s PJ sets, my mother’s got quite the collection of these! You can find holiday PJ’s just about anywhere this time of year, and they make a great gift too. I got my sister some comfy Christmas PJ’s last year and they were a big hit!

Also on my relax-and-enjoy-Christmas-time-list: baking! I love to bake, even if sometimes my treats come out looking a little questionable (but still edible!). I scooped up these cute pieces from my work (Merle Norman Cosmetics and Gifts in Olney), and I’m super excited to fill this jar with tons of holiday-themed goodies; some healthy, some pure sugar, and some questionables. Come follow me on Pinterest to see my baking board or peruse my “stop eating McDonalds board” for some non-holiday themed recipes!
