Back in Charleston
I’m so happy that I get to write another blog post about Charleston because I LOVE the area and am so thankful I got to go back this year! Ryan and I went for a Valentine’s Day weekend getaway and had so much fun. This was the first vacation we’ve taken that was just the two of us so it felt really special. I did a lot of research before the trip and made a google doc of places to eat and things to do in Charleston. I shared it at the bottom of this post! Here’s some info & pics of where we went and what we did (and at the end I included outfits that I wore!):
We stayed in an Airbnb in Mount Pleasant. The location was fantastic! We had a ten minute drive to downtown and just a fifteen minute bike ride to Sullivan’s Island. We were within walking distance to a gym and several restaurants and coffee shops. We didn’t have any traffic while getting to and from downtown, so the commute was super easy. I don’t know if the lack of traffic was because we were there during the end of the week or if there was another reason…but either way, it was so easy and a lot less expensive than staying downtown. I’d recommend staying in Mount Pleasant if you drive to Charleston and have a car since it’s so easy to get around. You’re also a lot closer to Sullivan’s Island and the activities to do around there.
The place itself was super clean, the bed was so comfy, and it came fully stocked with all of the amenities you could need. The place also came with two beach cruiser bikes which we used to ride to Sullivan’s Island!

I created a highlight in my Instagram stories of everything we ate in Charleston! I took a lot of pictures of food from these places, so it’s there if you want to see. Here’s a list of every restaurant we visited:
- The Obstinate Daughter
- Vintage Coffee Cafe
- Hustle Smoothie Bar (I was SO excited to go here because I’ve been using blender bombs for ages and was so happy to go to the founder’s first cafe!)
- Basic Kitchen (their cauliflower wings were soooooo good!)
- Sugar Shop (vanilla blueberry cupcakes are their signature)
- Eli’s Table (we didn’t have the best experience unfortunately, but the food was pretty good)
- Poe’s Tavern
- Vicious Biscuit
- Callies Hot Little Biscuit
- Butcher and Bee (my favorite restaurant so far!)
Other places that came highly recommended that we really wanted to try but ran out of time included:
For activities, we visited the Charleston City Market and browsed around, walked around The Battery and Rainbow Row, biked to Sullivan’s Island, and shopped on King Street. We wanted to check out the Market Pavillion Hotel rooftop bar and Camellias (an all pink champagne bar) but didn’t have enough time. You can read about more things to do in Charleston in this other blog post. Below is the list I made of places to go! Feel free to save it for your next trip to Charleston 🙂
And that’s all for today! I miss the atmosphere and the delicious food (especially those cauliflower wings from Basic Kitchen! YUMMMMMM!). Hope everyone has a great week!
