A New Stuttering Youtube Channel
I’m really excited to share that my speech therapist from University of Maryland, Vivian Sisskin, has started a YouTube channel! It’s called Open Stutter. It hosts videos of people who stutter talking about their experiences with stuttering. There’s so many topics from different individuals that have worked with her – fluency, covert stuttering, confidence, navigating the dating world, spontaneity, advocacy, etc. As well as people’s individual stories with their stutter and how they’ve come to be more accepting of it.
There’s not a ton of people out there who will openly talk, and show, stuttering in such a public forum. Which makes this resource a gold mine!
I was interviewed for it by my other therapist who works with Vivian, Nic Brow. We talked for twenty minutes about advocacy and what it means to be an ally to other PWS. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with Nic and I’ve been watching the new videos as they come out. Watch our conversation below!
If you like this, you should subscribe to her channel and share with others. The more awareness we can spread about stuttering, the better!
